Environmental and hygiene certification for B&B

High environment and hygiene standards at B&B, with certification to ISO 14001 and HACCP confirmed on 30.5.2007

Niklasdorf, July 2007

The labels and flexible packaging papers division belonging to Prinzhorn Holding comprises the Brigl & Bergmeister GmbH plants in Austria and the Vevce paper factory in Slovenia. Over and above its existing certification to ISO 9001, the company has now also successfully introduced the ISO 14001 Environment Certificate and the HACCP Hygiene Standard, and had them certified.

Papers produced by B&B often come into contact with food, so it is important to have objective confirmation that high hygiene standards are being applied. The HACCP certification has enabled the company to further expand its leading position in the paper industry.

What does HACCP mean?

Hazard Analyses and Critical Control Points, which means analysing hazardous materials and monitoring critical points. This method systematically avoids potential hazards for food products (including packaging).

The ECO 14001 Environment Certificate now also confirms the company's efforts to fulfil its environmental responsibilities, minimise risks, and demonstrate compliance with environment legislation.

The high standards at B&B verified by the present certificates provide better transparency both for public authorities and for customers. For customers they also mean greater safety for their own products coming into contact with packaging papers and labels produced by B&B. It also provides an assurance that all legal requirements are being complied with.
