Our B&B strategy involves increasing the share of independently acquired energy from sustainable sources. A solar power plant with a peak capacity of 1 MWp is already installed at Papirnica Vevče.
The investment in Papirnica Vevče is financed following a call for tenders for the co-financing of operations for the construction of new small-scale electricity generation plants using solar energy (JR SE RES 2021) for a total amount of EUR 199 980,00.
The objective of the call for tenders is to produce electricity using solar energy to increase self- sufficiency in pursuit of the goal to transition to a low-carbon and climate-neutral economy. The company will have a positive impact on the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The project aims to set up a solar power plant on the roofs of the company’s production premises.
The operation is implemented under the Operational Program for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy 2014-2020, namely the priority axis “Sustainable consumption and production of energy and smart grids” and the priority investment “Promoting the production and distribution of energy derived from renewable sources”.
The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the Cohesion Fund.
